1) Steerswoman of the Troth, Writer and Researcher
Interview with Patricia Lafaylive By Christopher Blackwell

I think I have as much fun as my readers when people send suggestions about who I should interview. This is especially true when it includes people of communities that I know less of, like Heathen folk. Such is the case of a Heathen Writer Patricia Lafaylive, who prefers to be called Patty.

I contacted her and Patty was kind enough to give permission for this interview.

Christopher: Please tell us a bit about yourself?

Patty: I'm a Connecticut native, raised in a small town. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1997, with a focused minor in anthropology, and just earned my Masters of Arts Degree in English from Southern Connecticut State University last May. I was raised Irish Roman Catholic (believe me, that distinction matters!) but never took Confirmation. I explored many different philosophies and faiths from my early years in high school and that remains a fascination for me to this day.

2) Heathen Devotionals and Other Books
Interview with Galina Krasskova by Christopher Blackwell

One of my Heathen readers suggested that I interview Galina for her work on Heathen Devotionals. I contacted her and she was kind enough to do this interview.

Christopher: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Galina: Well, I never quite know how to answer that question. I’m a odatheow, which means I'm a god-slave. I belong to Odin. He is my breath, my sanctuary, my bliss, my greatest torment. Everything else that I am flows out of my relationship with Him. I'm always tempted to say all else is commentary. LOL.

3) Notice
The Asatru Military Family Support Program site up

The Asatru Military Family Support Program, www.hammerproject.org, is sponsored by the Asatru Folk Assembly. It is for military personnel and veterans who are heathen, as well as their families. We want to support all their family members, whether they are Asatru or not.

Many times we think of the effects on military personnel, but forget the cost to their families. Their spouses, children, siblings and parents are left here to keep things moving forward, when "forward" isn't clear. Spouses and parents are left trying to explain things that are too difficult for young children to understand, and sometimes they feel a twinge of guilt for enjoying themselves with family and friends when their loved one is so far away.

4) Just an Ordinary Heathen
Interview with Michele White by Christopher Blackwell

In our Pagan and Heathen communities there are always some with egos. But then there are the ordinary folk. Michele has always been one to send me suggestions of people to interview in the Heathen community and I have met some interesting people that way.

But most of us are ordinary folk, nothing special we think, not well known. Perhaps we underestimate the ordinary folk because where would our communities be without them? They are the ones that fill in, that work behind the scenes, and do much of what makes our communities work. So I asked Michele to let me show a bit of the ordinary Heathen and perhaps find out how unordinary ordinary can get. Thankfully she was kind enough to agree to this interview.

5) Two separate paths.
Interview with Lisa Morgenstern by Christopher Blackwell

It was a Heathen reader that suggested that Lisa might be an interesting person to interview, both for her following of two quite separate traditions and taking part in two different communities. and for her many other activities.. So I contacted Lisa and she agreed to be interviewed.

Christopher: First could you tell us a little about yourself.

Lisa: I am a wife and mother of three, with two in college and one in elementary school; I have a BA in English from University of California at Irvine; and am currently what I call a domestic goddess. I have a part time business vending as Eye of the Dragon but most of my "work" is volunteer; volunteer prison chaplaincy;

6) The Rose of Love,Soulful Intentions
Interview with Janet Kelly by Christopher Blackwell

One of my readers informed me of a new program in the Las Vegas Nevada aimed at the many military veterans and the person behind it, Janet Kelly. As a Vietnam Vet I could not help but be interested so I contacted Janet Kelly and she was gracious enough to grant me this interview.

Christopher: For a bit of back ground could you tell us a bit about your yourself?

Janet: First and foremost, thank you, Christopher and all who have served America. I could not tell my story without the constant protection that all of you of the Armed Forces have done for us.

7) Asatru Military Family Support Program - The Hammer Project
Editorial by Christopher Blackwell

The Asatru Military Family Support Program is also working on the Hammer Project.

The Hammer Project is about getting the Thor's Hammer accepted by the VA as an emblem of belief for use on headstones, grave markers, and memorial plaques provided by the VA. They face the same excuses that we had on the Pentacle Quest earlier and fully need support and allies not only from interested Heathens, but the rest of us as well.

As a Wiccan Vet, I am already involved over there and will be publishing interviews and articles here as they develop. It is the Heathen's community battle, but we had Heathens helping in the Pentacle Quest.
