On Dec. 11, 2006, at 3 p.m., U. S. Air Force Chief of Chaplains, Chaplain (MajGen) Charles C. Baldwin and his Deputy, Chaplain (BrigGen) Cecil R. Richardson met with the newly elected Executive Director of the Military Pagan Network, Inc.(MPN), Rev J. Michael Akins. Originally scheduled for a half hour, the courtesy visit was extended to a full hour at the AF Chief of Chaplains office at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D. C. |
| 2) Learning How To Deal With The Media By Christopher Blackwell |
It is nearly impossible to build public support for anything without getting the media to notice your goal and do so in the way you want them to, as well as do follow up. So when I was alerted that there was a class on “Media and Public Relations” available at a Pagan seminary, Cherry Hill Seminary, I decided to check on it. ( www.cherryhillseminary.org ) I am interviewing the instructor Victoria Slind-Flor, who has graciously given me her time. |
| 3) Creating A Pagan Culture By Christopher Blackwell |
Besides fighting for our rights and practicing our religions, Pagans are also creating their own culture as they go. You can see this in Pagan art, stories, music and now even in Pagan comics. |
| 4) Creating A Pagan Culture: Part II By Christopher Blackwell |
I was alerted to a second Pagan comic series, “American Gothic Daily ( http://americangothic.comicgenesis.com ) I am interviewing Sky, the creator. |
| 5) Morgan Ravenwood, Pagan Author By Christopher Blackwell |
When I put out my plea to hear what Pagans were doing, Morgan Ravenwood was one that replied. As mentioned in another article, part of the action Pagans are taking is creating our own Pagan culture. Authors like Morgan are a big part of that culture. Christopher: How long have you been writing and what training, if any, do you have? |
| 6) In The Spirit by Darrel Isaac |
Uncertainty is one of the great quandaries of human existence. It’s not knowing what’s coming next that makes us anxious and afraid. We don’t know what the next moment will bring - what we might gain or what we might lose. Well, the same holds true for Wiccans while incarcerated.... |
| 7) Editorial Waiting for Imbolc By Christopher Blackwell |
As I sit here out in the desert, it is looking a bit more wintry than I have seen it for nearly 15 years. Today we had our second snowstorm in a week’s time. The first storm gave us a inch of snow, which is considered serious snow out here, though the temperature never quite hit freezing, staying between 33 to 36 degrees. This morning however I woke to 28 degrees and already an inch of snow. The snowflakes were some of the tiniest I have ever seen, laying down a fine powder snow that skiers might well have liked. All the schools were closed today and for a while all the highways as well. |
